Dous Makòs or Tablèt Kokoye

So Haitians love sweets, we have many sweet treats to choose from like Bonbon amidon (cornstarch cookies), Tablet Pistach (Peanut Brittle), Pen Patat (Sweet Potato Bread Pudding), Gato Ayisyen (Haitian Cake) etc. Today out of all the many sweets we have to choose from Dous Makos (Haitian fudge) and Tablèt Kokoye (Coconut Brittle) are battling it out amongst you guys, my readers. I don’t have the recipe for dous makòs on the blog yet but I will be doing it sometime in the near future. If you’re interested in the recipe for Tablèt Kokoye you can sign up to my email list and get the video and recipe there. Personally I’m a coconut kind of girl so although dous makòs is sometimes made with coconut too it’s just something about the texture of the tablèt kokoye that makes it a winner for me. It’s the purest form of the coconut if you will. I would love to hear which one is your favorite down in the comments, let’s talk!!
