Hey my Love For Haitian Food foodies, hope you all are doing well. I have a super simple dish for you guys today, Kribich nan Sòs which is Shrimp in Sauce Haitian style of course.

I served this with Diri kole ak Pwa Kongo (Rice with pigeon peas) and Banann Peze (fried plantains) I will share this delicious rice recipe with you guys tomorrow so stay tuned for that.

Ingredients

Adjust Servings
1 lbs Shrimp, deveined and cleaned
2 tablespoons Epis
2 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon cooking margarine
1 ½ tablespoon tomato paste
2 cloves of garlic, minced
½ cup onions, slice
½ cup bell peppers, sliced
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon old bay seasoning
Half of ⅛ teaspoon clove powder
Half of ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon salt
teaspoon dried thyme

Directions

1.

Make the barbecue sauce (or substitute 3/4 to 1 cup bottled sauce):

In a small bowl marinate your shrimp by pouring epis and dried spices on it, set aside.

Cook the chicken (or substitute 2 cups shredded cooked chicken):

In a skillet on low to medium heat add oil, once hot add marinated shrimp and cook on each side for about 2 minutes then remove.

Mix the chicken with the barbecue sauce:

To the same skillet add cooking margarine followed by the tomato paste and fry the tomato paste for about a minute or so then add ½-1 cup of water, garlic and mix well.

Let sauce come to a simmer then add shrimp back to the skillet followed by onions and peppers. Cover and let simmer for 10 minutes, serve with rice or fried plantains. Enjoy!
