I’ve been wanting to try Haitian cuisine and probably whip something on my own. I guess you’re right; you’re video confirmed that Haitian food is more than just Back rice and Griot. I’m still a newbie to this, I wonder where could I find a Haitian restaurant that serves the best dishes.

I loovvvee this. I’m a 300% Haitian lol. I was born and raised in Haiti, I came here around 16 yrs old. As you might know they start teaching girls to cook very early. So I know how to cook authentic Haitian food, however Baking was never my strong suits. While I was on maternity leave, I had a crazy sweet tooth (in guessing it came with breastfeeding) and I was tired spending money on little slice of cake. I decided to learn how to bake. So was looking online how to make Haitian Cake and chocolate cake and stumbled on your page, and I tried your Haitian cake recipe, giiirrrll it was sooo good. I messed up the frosting the first time but I tried it again the second time was even better, than a friend of mine wanted a cake, I made one but using Creamcheese frosting..maaan it was delicious. My husband loves the cake, and he even asked that I make him a cake for his birthday. I want to do a 10 inches instead of 9 inch. i looked it up and it says that I’m gonna have to increase the recipe about 25% so the cake layers aren’t too flat. I use your recipe for two round 8 in pans, but I decrease the oven to 300 and it came out very nicely. I’m learning lol. I’m about the make the pineapple upside down today and probably would try some of cooking recipes,, it won’t hurt to learn more ways.. But I want to encourage you to keep up the great work that you’re doing representing our culture. Omg, I already wrote a book. Sorry! 😆
